KLANG, JAN 9: Three poor Indian families continue to receive the attention of Health, Welfare, Women and Family Development Exco Dr Daroyah Alwi.

Dr Daroyah, who is also Sementa Assemblyman, said the State Government through the Selangor Social Welfare Department (JKM) has tried to help these families several times.

However, according to her the efforts have failed as all of them do not have valid identification.

“Their main problem besides poverty is that they don’t have any valid documents, such as their identification cards.

“We will continue to find a solution for them to be able to get identification cards and other aid from there on, be it from JKM or the State Government,” she said.

Daroyah visited and gave some donations to the families on January 8. They are now living in small huts built on government reserve land in Pekan Kapar and Kampung Rantau Panjang.

She was joint by KEADILAN Deputy Women’s Chief G. Sivamalar, Kapar Indian Community Chief Naren and representatives from JKM.

Earlier, Daroyah joined the Klang Welfare and Recreational Association to visit special children under the care of Klang Disabled Child Care Association.

The home is located at Lorong Bunga Raya, Kampung Raja Uda. She also presented them with financial aid, basic necessities and  a wheel-chair.

The Klang Disabled Child Care Association was established in 1994 and now have 70 special-needs children under its care.
