KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 — The results of applications for the 2021 Form One and Form Four intake to the Mara Junior Science Colleges (MRSM) will be available in stages starting today.
Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) chairman Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun said successful candidates would receive notifications via the Short Message System (SMS) or email which was registered during the application.
“Applicants can also check through Mara's official portal at www.mara.gov.my. Applicants or parents need to confirm acceptance of the offer through the mymrsm system link on the Mara portal and if they do not do so within seven days, the offer to the candidate will be considered null and void,” she said in a statement today.
As for the appeal, Azizah said it would be open from April 7 to May 30 and must be done online.
Azizah said this year, Mara had received a total of 102,329 applications for admission to Form One and Form Four, with the capacity of student admission to Form One is 7,783 students while for Form Four is 2,426 students.
"As of February 2021, there are 28,087 MRSM students in 53 MRSM," she said.
Azizah added that Mara was still continuing the existing policy of 60 per cent of intake from the B40 group with priority given to rural students and the urban poor.
“B40 students studying at MRSM do not have to worry because Mara provides assistance under the Budi Mara programme. Selected students will be given cash assistance of RM1,100 covering school fees, purchase of school uniform, daily clothes, hostel necessities, school paraphernalia and so on.
"This approach offers greater opportunities for students from the B40 group to study at MRSM," she said.
Meanwhile, Azizah also said that two new MRSM, namely MRSM ATM Bera, Pahang and MRSM Bagan Datuk, Perak would begin operation in early June to provide greater educational opportunities to the community.
MRSM offers six programmes namely the MRSM International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), MRSM International Baccalaureate-Middle Year Programme (IB-MYP), MRSM Ulul Albab, MRSM Special Education Programme (PKP), MRSM Premier and MRSM Technical under the MRSM Education System (SPMRSM).
