AMPANG JAYA, March 24 — The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) today issued two eateries in Pandan Indah and Taman Permata with compounds that failed to meet cleanliness standards.
The fines were meted out after routine inspections by the MPAJ Urban and Cleanliness Services Department to ensure food safety and premises cleanliness.
According to a statement on the MPAJ Facebook page, the compounds were issued due to various cleanliness regulation violations detected at the premises.
“A compound was issued under Bylaw 19(1)(d) for disposing of or pouring dirty liquid in a public place,” read the statement.
It said another compound was issued under Bylaw 34(2) for failure to ensure a premises is free of pests such as rats, flies, insects, fleas or mites.
MPAJ said the action was taken based on the MPAJ Food Establishment Bylaws 2007 and MPAJ Food Handling Bylaws 2007.
MPAJ emphasised that inspections will be conducted periodically to ensure a satisfactory level of cleanliness at eateries.
