SHAH ALAM, March 24 — Applications for Universiti Selangor’s (UNISEL) University Basic Tuition Aid (BAYU) are now open.
The initiative is a state government push to lighten B40 and M40 families’ burdens and help Selangor youth further their studies.
“BAYU is a state government initiative to provide basic tuition exemptions to Selangor children and residents set to further their studies at UNISEL.
“With the programme, UNISEL is confident that students from the B40 and M40 categories specifically will receive a RM500 benefit to cover the basic tuition,” said UNISEL in a Facebook post.
BAYU applications can be submitted to the UNISEL website.
Among the eligibility criteria are:
UNISEL students in foundation, diploma and bachelor’s programmes who were born in Selangor or have resided here for over 10 years

Meanwhile, UIS said applications are open for its foundation, diploma and bachelor’s programmes.
UIS said new students may apply on June 20 and 21 on its applications webpage.
