SHAH ALAM, Feb 6 — KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) continues to improve its solid waste collection service in Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya by coordinating operation zones, monitoring focus areas, and working closely with local authorities to ensure more effective, orderly collection.
KDEBWM Subang Jaya operations chief Mohd Ridhuan Tahir said domestic waste collection in the city covers 57 zones with the support of 77 trash compactors to meet the local community’s needs.
He added that the coordination of operation zones is aimed at improving service efficiency and ensuring collection routes are more systematic and easily monitored.
“After area coordination, new signposts that display the waste collection schedule will be erected for residents’ reference,” he told Media Selangor.
Ridhuan also said new contractors involved in collection operations need an adjustment period to familiarise themselves with the re-coordination of operation areas.
Meanwhile, KDEBWM Petaling Jaya branch chief Afiq Abas said domestic waste collection in the city covers 59 zones and is supported by 74 trash compactors to ensure a consistent service that fulfils residents’ needs.
He said complaints from SS20 and Section 22 residents, which have gone viral, cropped up during the transition to KDEBWM’s new contract last year.
“The complaints emerged during the transition phase to the new contract, about lorry breakdowns around the middle of September and October, but the situation was resolved,’ he said.
To curb illegal dumping, Afiq said CCTV cameras have been installed in hotspots for more effective monitoring and to raise public awareness on the importance of environmental cleanliness.
KDEBWM advised residents to visit its official channels, including the iClean Selangor app and its website, for updated waste collection schedules and current information on its services.
