SHAH ALAM, Nov 9 — The sale of Covid-19 self-test kits available on the SELangkah mobile app has received good response since early this month, says Dr Helmi Zakariah.
The SELangkah project manager said two types of self-test kits, namely the Salixium Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Test Kit and saliva self-test kit, retails at RM19.90 per unit and are supplied by Farmasi Selcare.
Without disclosing the number of units sold, Dr Helmi said the demand is high for those travelling abroad and having many family members.
“We are introducing online sales, limited to these two well-known self-test kits. To make it easier for people, they may choose whether to use the delivery service or self pick up.
“The delivery charge is RM8, and it would take around two to five days to be delivered, depending on the location,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.
Dr Helmi said that apart from its user-friendliness, the saliva self-test kit also helps individuals identify and control the risk of Covid-19 infection without going to healthcare facilities.
As for the Salixium kit, he said the saliva and nose sampling are done using two swab tools, and results would appear within 10 to 15 minutes.
