Pandamaran rep offers RM1,000 reward for info on mural vandals

SHAH ALAM, Feb 3 — The Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) strongly condemned irresponsible individuals who burnt the art mural and noticeboard at Pelabuhan Klang town recently.

MBDK corporate communications director Norfiza Mahfiz said the incident nearly destroyed the noticeboard structure and damaged part of the mural, which was the area’s new identity.

“MBDK asks that police monitor the area as it attracts homeless folk at night.

“Burning public property is a shocking, malicious act that goes beyond regular vandalism, and is a sabotage of efforts to beautify Pelabuhan Klang town,” she said in a Facebook statement.

Meanwhile, Norfiza said Pandamaran assemblyman Leong Tuck Chee is offering a RM1,000 reward to anyone who comes forward with information on the mastermind of the incident.

“MBDK is grateful to the Pandamaran assemblyman who is offering RM1,000 in reward to any individual or party that comes forward with legitimate information to capture the mastermind of the incident,” she added.

The mural, borne from a strategic cooperation between MBDK and Port Klang Authority, was completed two months ago. The artwork was meant to revive the aesthetic of the town to draw visitors and community interest.
