SHAH ALAM, Jan 15 — Prospective traders seeking to operate at Ramadan bazaars in Klang must first settle all outstanding compounds before their applications will be considered.

Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) corporate communications director Norfiza Mahfiz said applicants with unpaid compounds would not be allowed to trade, The Star reported.

“Those with arrears will be barred from trading,” she said, adding that applications must be submitted by February 3.

This year, MBDK has allocated 1,405 Ramadan bazaar lots across 23 locations in the city, including Taman Sri Andalas, Simpang Empat in Teluk Pulai, Kampung Meru, and Lorong Musran in Rantau Panjang.

Norfiza said eligible traders would be assigned lots through a ballot system, with application fees set according to stall type.

“For stalls selling cooked food on night market trading bays, the fee is RM310. For stalls not operating on night market lots, the fee is RM350.”

She added that the fees would cover rubbish collection and cleaning services during the bazaar period.

Meanwhile, Norfiza said MBDK has allocated 343 lots for this year’s Aidilfitri bazaar at Jalan Taiping, which will be distributed through a bidding system.

“For lots selling clothes, artificial flowers, decorations and cookies, applicants may submit higher-than-starting-bid prices to secure a stall.

“Bidding starts at RM2,450 for all lots and there is no maximum bid limit set,” she said.

The bazaars are scheduled to operate from February 18 to March 19, from 4pm to 8pm.
