Preparations underway for Silver Jubilee of Selangor Sultan

SHAH ALAM, Dec 23 — Preparations for Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj’s Silver Jubilee have kicked off, being a priority for the state under the Culture, Heritage and Malay Customs Committee next year.

State executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah, who heads the committee, said Selangor has allocated funds for several official programmes during the Sultan’s Silver Jubilee celebration, with plans for a concert.

“If His Royal Highness assents, the state plans to hold a Royal Concert in cooperation with RTM.

“We also plan to hold a Royal Wedding Exhibit in conjunction with Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah’s wedding, at the Sultan Alam Shah Museum for three months for the people’s viewing pleasure,” Borhan told Media Selangor.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said Tengku Amir Shah would embark on a Silver Jubilee tour across Selangor’s nine districts.

Amirudin said the state government highly appreciates His Highness’ willingness to join the tour.

“Your Royal Highness’ government also strives for one infrastructure project to be implemented in each district as a public facility, be it a new construction or upgrade, for the benefit of Your Royal Highness’ people,” Amirudin said in a speech during the Sultan’s official 80th birthday function on December 11.

Borhan said his office is focusing on building the Stamp Museum in Seksyen 14 here, set to be done this month, to allow for the management to apply for the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC).

“God willing, I am confident the Stamp Museum’s official opening will be held in 2027, as the CCC process takes time, and we will request His Royal Highness’ assent to officiate it,” Borhan said.
