AMPANG, Dec 21 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin yesterday joined the Larian KITA Saturday Night Run Ampang event here last night.
The Royal couple not only flagged off the 5km and 3km race, but ran with over 3,000 participants from all segments of society.
Themed “Run, Glow & Grow”, the run was organised by Yayasan TZA and the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) to encourage a healthy lifestyle and boost unity among the urban community.
Also present were Yayasan TZA founder Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, MPAJ deputy president Hasrolnizam Shaari, Selangor Deputy Speaker Kamri Kamaruddin, and Lembah Jaya assemblyman Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad.
The previous Larian KITA events were held in Kuala Selangor and Kuala Langat, while the Ampang edition was expanded to the urban community with a more laidback night run concept.
Besides the run, various activities were held, including zumba aerobics, music and cultural performances, family activities, and a lucky draw, for a more lively event and as a mark of appreciation for those who participated.
