SHAH ALAM, Dec 21 — Selangor FC (SFC) has been fined over RM62,174 by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) over three offences during an AFC Champions League 2 (ACL 2) match on November 6.
The first offence was delaying the start of the second half by one minute and 42 seconds, where club representatives were found to have failed to adhere to match etiquette, reported Harian Metro.
SFC, who were hosts, were ordered to pay a RM5,096 fine for flouting Article 2.2 of the AFC Match Operation Manual.
SFC’s second offence was flouting Article 65.1 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code, when two supporters encroached into the pitch during the match.
The third offence, which came with a RM28,539 fine, was flouting Article 64.1 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code during the match held at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium.
“The total fine must be settled in 30 days from the day this decision was announced, in line with Article 11.3 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code,” said the governing body.
Meanwhile, Persib Bandung as the visiting team was fined RM122,310 over offences involving spectators’ behaviour under Article 65.1 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code.
AFC said 20 fans of the Indonesian club encroached into the pitch during the match, three more were claimed to have encroached into the pitch, and fans threw around eight objects into or around the field.
