One dam, 29 rivers in nine states exceed danger level

SHAH ALAM, Nov 28 — Approximately 29 rivers and one dam across nine states have exceeded the danger level as of 2.45pm today, according to the Irrigation and Drainage Department's (JPS) Public Infobanjir portal.

In Perlis, the two affected locations are Sungai Perlis at Kampung Sungai Bakau and the Timah Tasoh Dam.

Meanwhile, in Kedah, four rivers recorded danger-level readings: Sungai Anak Bukit at Taman Aman, Sungai Padang Terap at Kepala Batas, Sungai Bata at Kampung Pahana, and Sungai Baru at Kampung Sungai Baru.

In Perak, only Sungai Slim in Slim River was recorded at the danger level.

In Selangor, seven rivers exceeded the danger level: Pintu Air Ijok, Dengkil, Jenderam Hilir, Bukit Changgang, Pekan Meru, Taman Desa Kemuning, and Kampung Budiman.

In Negeri Sembilan, six rivers were reported at danger level: Kampung Datok Johan, Sungai Linggi at Kampung Linsum, Sungai Jelai at Pekan Dangi, Sungai Linggi at Pekan Linggi, Sungai Rembau at Titian Bintangor, and Sungai Gemencheh at the Sungai Dua Dam.

Four rivers in Melaka also exceeded the danger mark: Sungai Durian Tunggal at Batu 11 Air Resam, Hulu Sungai Cheng, Hilir Sungai Cheng, and Sungai Melaka at Melaka Pindah. In Johor, the only river at danger level is Sungai Lenik at Ladang Chaah.

In Terengganu, two locations recorded dangerous readings: Kampung Langkap and Sungai Setiu at Jambatan Permaisuri. In Kelantan, two rivers exceeded danger thresholds: Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang and Sungai Lebir in Kampung Tualang.

Meanwhile, in Sabah, only Sungai Moyog in Penampang showed water levels exceeding the danger level.
