Selangor aims to become Asia’s medtech hub

SHAH ALAM, Oct 29 — Selangor could become a competitive medical technology hub through its fresh involvement in the life sciences sector, said state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han.

He said the state government is focusing on developing high-value and hi-tech industries that can drive economic growth.

“Through a series of visits to Japan, a meeting was held with leaders in hi-tech blood filtration systems and innovators of in-vitro diagnosis, and results were very good.

“Selangor aims to explore deeper investment through cooperations with transfer, research and development technology and building a high-skill workforce.

“We are seeing that with cooperations with global leaders … it could position Selangor as a competitive, dynamic medical technology hub in the region,” he said in a Facebook post.

Earlier, Ng led a delegation to Japan, comprising representatives from Invest Selangor Bhd, Selgate, and Central Spectrum.
