SHAH ALAM, Sept 6 — The Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) has made the nation proud by winning the Asia Smart City Award (Best Project Awards) at Tomorrow City Shanghai (TCS) 2025 in China.
It said the award was received by MPSepang President Ani Ahmad for the project “Rooftop Solar Development for Self-Consumption.”
Even more impressively, MPSepang was the only local authority from Malaysia selected to receive the award at the programme.
It hopes this recognition will strengthen the country's efforts in driving the development of smart and inclusive cities towards Smart Nation 2040.
“MPSepang hopes that through this participation, we can move forward together at the national level to accelerate the development of smarter and more inclusive cities towards Smart Nation 2040,” MPSepang said in a statement today.
TCS 2025, held from September 1 to September 4 at the Zhangjiang Science Hall in Shanghai, was organised by Fira Internacional de Barcelona, Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), and the Shanghai City Administration.
