SHAH ALAM, Feb 11 — The Arulmigu Sri Subramaniar Temple in Kerling, Hulu Selangor, has received RM100,000 to cover the costs of upgrading its infrastructure.
The Special Committee for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Taoism's (Limas) co-chairman V. Papparaidu said the announcement was made by Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari during the Thaipusam celebration at the temple yesterday night.
“This assistance will further facilitate devotees in performing their prayers at this temple.
“The Standing Committee on Human Resources has also provided RM20,000 to improve the temple’s infrastructure,” he said in a Facebook post.
Earlier, Amirudin officiated the state-level Thaipusam celebration at the Sri Subramaniar Temple compound in Batu Caves.
At the event, which was attended by tens of thousands of Hindu devotees, he presented a Limas contribution of RM561,000 to 61 temples in Gombak, Hulu Selangor, and Kuala Selangor.
