SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj graciously officiated the Selangor Education Summit (SES) and the Selangor International Book Fair (SIBF) 2024, which commenced today.
Taking place at the Setia City Convention Centre, His Royal Highness also presented appreciation plaques to representatives of the Selangor International Fellowship programme, including participants from Mongolia, Algeria, Vietnam, the Philippines, India, and Japan.
Accompanied by Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari, Sultan Sharafuddin later took the time to visit the book fair booths and engage with exhibitors and visitors.

This year, the book fair held under SES will run until December 3, targeting 300,000 visitors.
SIBF, first organised in 2022, is a continuation of the Selangor Book Fair, which has been held annually since 2006.
Starting last year, the state government also introduced the Selangor Children’s Book Fair, held at the PKNS Complex, featuring participation from local authors, publishers, and booksellers.
SIBF 2023 recorded over 250,000 attendees of various age groups during its 10-day run, which began on December 1 at the Shah Alam City Council Convention Centre in Section 13.
