SHAH ALAM, Dec 1 —The state's development is not solely reliant on industries and foreign direct investments (FDI), but is equally supported by a strengthened focus on education.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said that prioritising education can nurture a generation equipped with critical thinking skills, emotional resilience, and noble values, which will benefit Selangor's governance.
"When a comprehensive education system intersects with innovation, modern technology, and creative thinking, we can achieve transformative progress that benefits society and the nation.
"This may seem like an ambitious dream, but it will remain unfulfilled if no action is taken. Hence, initiatives like the Selangor Education Summit (SES) mark the beginning of our journey toward sustainability, livability, and prosperity," he said.
Amirudin was speaking at SES' closing ceremony in the Setia City Convention Centre today.
The inaugural event gathered four major expos: the Selangor International Book Fair, the Selangor Research and Innovation Expo, the Selangor Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Expo, and WorldSkills Malaysia Selangor 2024.
The event, which began on Wednesday (November 27), is expected to attract over 300,000 visitors and was held in collaboration with leading companies including Apple, Siemens, Dassault Systèmes, and Mendix.
