KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 — The second day of the Second Series of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2024 saw a visit from Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, where he interacted with participants.
Accompanied by state executive councillor investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han and Invest Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris, His Highness spent over an hour touring the event venue.
The walkabout took place after his closed-door meeting with Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
During his visit, Tengku Amir Shah showed keen interest in local businesses, particularly those in the semiconductor and food and beverages industries.
He engaged with various exhibitors, taking time to understand their products and services, while emphasising the significance of innovation and entrepreneurship in driving the state’s economy.
As he entered the exhibition halls, he was warmly greeted by trade participants eager to share about their products and services. The Raja Muda also posed insightful questions and offered words of encouragement to them.

The Second Series of SIBS 2024 started yesterday and ends Saturday, and is held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here.
The event aims to continue positioning Selangor as a premier gateway to Asean, and to foster regional partnerships, investments, and economic growth.
The summit brings together a remarkable lineup of programmes, with more than 650 booths from various industries and an expected turnout of 12,000 visitors from 18 countries.
It serves as a vital platform to promote cross-border trade, facilitate networking, showcase innovations, and drive business expansion across Asean.
The four-day event features the Selangor International Expo Food and Beverage, the Selangor Life Science Convention, and the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention.
In its first series, held from July 25 to 27, SIBS generated a potential transaction value of RM12.2 billion, nearly twice the overall target of RM7 billion.
