SHAH ALAM, July 24 — The Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2025, which is set to return this October, will see a renewed focus on Asean’s cultural and economic strengths.

State executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said the upcoming edition reflects Selangor’s ambitions to be a progressive gateway for cross-border commerce in the region.

“SIBS is Selangor’s aspiration to become an inclusive, dynamic, and regional hub for investment and innovation, in line with Malaysia’s role as Asean chair this year,” he told Media Selangor.

Scheduled to run from October 8-11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, SIBS 2025 will feature more than 700 booths, bringing together industry players from both domestic and international markets.

Ng said over 300 booths have already been confirmed, with international delegations from Kenya, Uganda, Thailand, South Korea and Brunei, alongside Malaysian agencies and representatives from other states.

“Preparations are currently at 50 per cent, covering promotion across Southeast Asia, booth layout planning, and cross-border business matching programmes,” he said.

The event will also feature curated forums and strategic networking sessions designed to foster deeper partnerships between investors and entrepreneurs.

With a projected transaction value of RM10 billion and an expected turnout of 50,000 visitors, SIBS 2025 is expected to further cement Selangor’s role as Malaysia’s economic gateway to the global market.

Last year’s SIBS, held in two editions in July and October, recorded RM13.86 billion in transactions, more than double the RM6.12 billion reported in 2023.
