SHAH ALAM, June 10 — The management of the Malaysian Independent Living & Training Centre (ILTC) expressed their relief following the state government's decision to provide them with welfare allocations.
Its committee member and trainer C. Sasitharan said the funds will help to improve the special training centre for disabled persons or those who have suffered disabilities following accidents, so as to be independent and capable of managing themselves.

"With these funds, we can obtain the necessary equipment to provide training, skills and self-development for the 25 participants at the centre.
"This is crucial in preparing for them to return to the working world,"
as preparation for their return to the world of work," he said during the handover ceremony at the State Secretariat Building earlier today.
ILTC was presented with nearly RM50,000 in cash donations by the state executive councillor for social welfare V. Ganabatirau.
Meanwhile, Pusat Jagaan Nur Hasanah chairman Mohiadin Bahado commended state government for its concern, which has benefitted 29 senior citizens under its charge at Beranang.

"Fortunately, this assistance will be able to cover the cost of repairing damages to the care centre, as well as improving its ventilation system for the elderly and the disabled with no family, under our care.
"We can only hope such assistance will be continued for NGOs like us, even as we struggle to source funding," he said.
During the event, Ganabatirau presented a symbolic handover of allocations worth over RM1.5 million to 70 welfare centres, associations, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
He said the allocations were channelled through the Dana Sukarelawan Kebajikan programme, the Sinergi Prihatin programme, the Pusat Kebajikan Lestari programme, and the Santuni Pusat Kebajikan programme.
