SHAH ALAM, Jan 10 — The third series of the Selangor Mega Career Fair is scheduled to take place in early March, involving more employers in focused sectors.
State executive councillor for human capital development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the sectors include the hotel industry, hospitality, tourism, and manufacturing.
The fair also will provide more job opportunities for disabled persons (OKU).
“The final venue has yet to be decided. However, we have agreed to make some improvements to the programme like increasing participation among employers,” he said when contacted.
Mohd Khairuddin added the second series of the event held last month was met with positive responses from nearly 12,000 job seekers.
He said approximately 1,063 applicants managed to obtain employment, with a majority of the jobs in the hotel, retail, manufacturing, as well as food and beverage industries.
“The actual number of successful participants will be updated from time to time, as most of the employers are still conducting a second round of interviews,” Mohd Khairuddin said.
The 2022 Selangor Mega Career Fair was held on December 10 and December 11 last year, at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (Maeps) in Serdang.
The two-day event offered over 30,000 job opportunities in various sectors, involving 300 companies like Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional (Proton), Pos Malaysia, Prasarana, Puncak Niaga Holdings, Starbucks, Genting Malaysia, and state government agencies.
