SHAH ALAM, April 7 — Pakatan Harapan has set up a team to coordinate the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election, which will be held on May 11, with Selangor Democratic Action Party (DAP) secretary Ng Sze Han as the election director.
Selangor Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) secretary Dr Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the team would also include Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin and Shah Alam MP Azli Yusof.
“The team will coordinate the work and campaigns planned by Selangor Harapan, as well as prepare and coordinate tasks related to the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election campaign with Harapan’s Central leadership and parties within the Unity pact.
“The team will also establish key committees that are prepared to officially run starting from the candidate nomination day on April 27, 2024, until polling day on May 11, 2024,” he said in a statement following a meeting held by Selangor Harapan today.
Khairuddin said Selangor Harapan will announce its candidate before the nomination day after the central leadership has decided on the list of candidates submitted by DAP.
The Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election will be held on May 11 (Saturday), with nomination day on April 27 (Saturday) and early voting on May 7 (Tuesday).
The Kuala Kubu Baharu seat fell vacant following the death of its incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong, who passed away on March 21 after battling cancer for several years.
