AMPANG, June 11 — The Selangor Saring free health screening programme has made it easier for the B40 group to obtain health treatment.
Bukit Antarabangsa state constituency coordinator Suzana Shaharudin said that overall individuals have expressed the wish for the programme to be carried out at least twice a year.
"Many have praised the screening process, as they do not have to wait long like at government health clinics while one has to pay for private hospitals, which many certainly cannot afford.
"As such, the attendees are largely thankful and hope the programme will continue," she told SelangorKini.
Suzana was speaking at the programme for both her constituency and the Lembah Jaya state constituency at Dewan Lembah Jaya earlier today.
At the same time, she welcomed the residents of the surrounding area to take the opportunity to get free health treatment at all nearby state constituencies until this September.
The state government has allocated RM3.4 million for Selangor Saring, which is expected to benefit up to 39,000 Selangor residents, particularly those with a family history of ailments, obese individuals, and those leading unhealthy lifestyles.
Running from May 22 to September 4, the programme offers physical screenings, blood and urine tests, optical, cervical and breast cancer tests, as well as colorectal and prostate cancer tests.
