SHAH ALAM, May 7 — Selangor state assemblymen are set to organise Hari Raya Aidilfitri open houses for the residents in their constituencies.
Paya Jaras state assemblyman Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the open house will be held on the third week of Syawal on the grounds of his service centre.
"We expect this year to be merrier than usual, with a target of almost 7,000 visitors attending seeing as how it has been two years since the Paya Jaras state constituency held an open house.
"We welcome the surrounding residents to come together and enliven the event as many types of foods will be served," he said.
Meanwhile, Permatang state assemblyman Rozana Zainal Abidin did not miss the opportunity to celebrate with her voters by organising an open house which will take place on May 15.
She said the event will be held from 10am to 2pm on the grounds of her service centre with a target of over 3,000 visitors.
"Guests will be served with a variety of Hari Raya foods, including satay, roasted lamb, mee kuali besar, soto, lemang and nasi impit which will be personally prepared by Village Community Management Council (MPKK) members.
"As such I invite all residents of the Permatang state constituency to attend and take the opportunity to meet, seek the forgiveness of one another, and strengthen once again the bonds of fellowship," Rozana said.
