SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — Water supply has been restored to 84 location or 31 per cent of the 274 areas affected by the recent unscheduled water disruption in four districts in Selangor, as of 11am today.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) in a Twitter post said the remaining 190 areas are still in the restoration process.
The recovery rate according to the districts is at 58 per cent for Hulu Langat, followed by Kuala Langat (55 per cent) and Petaling (43 per cent).
Areas in Sepang and Putrajaya are still at zero recovery rate.
“Latest information will be updated from time to time on the social media platforms Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, the Air Selangor mobile app and our website at www.airselangor.com,” said Air Selangor.
Yesterday, Air Selangor chief executive officer Suhaimi Kamaralzaman said the water supply in the areas is expected to recover in stages beginning today until 6pm on Friday.
The full restoration of water supply is divided into three main groups — 145 areas to have full recovery by 6 pm today; 91 areas by 6pm tomorrow; and 38 areas by 6pm on Friday.
A total of 309,687 account holders in four districts in Selangor are experiencing unscheduled water cuts since Sunday after the Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi Water Treatment Plants had ceased operations.
