SHAH ALAM, July 7 — The Selangor medium-term economic recovery plan, which will be tabled on the first day of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting on Monday, will focus on efforts to sustain the state's economic structure.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the plan will also boost the primary sectors during the remaining six months of the year following the Covid-19 impact.

“The recovery plan is an extension of the previously announced economic stimulus package.

“The Covid-19 outbreak had affected the state economy, but we will have the details out later,” he told the press when met after the Covid-19 testing operation at the Selangor State Secretariat building, here today.

The Selangor economic recovery plan is expected to focus on housing, education, and employment issues.

Previously, the Selangor government has announced an additional allocation of RM272.5 million in the second phase of the state stimulus package, the Selangor Cares Package 2.0, bringing the total amount allocated to cushioning the economic impact of Covid-19 to RM400 million.

On March 20, the state administration had announced a RM127.78 million allocation for the first phase of the stimulus package, which featured seven initiatives.
