Compulsory Covid-19 swab test for Jalan Othman market traders, workers tomorrow

SHAH ALAM, May 6 — The final round of Covid-19 sampling and screening for the traders and workers of the Jalan Othman wet market will be held tomorrow from 9am to 12pm.

The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) had on a Facebook post said the swab test operation, which will be carried out by the Petaling Jaya Health District Office, is mandatory.

“For those who have undergone the testing at any other private clinics or hospitals must participate in this screening session as well,” MBPJ said last night, adding that those who have already gone through the Covid-19 testing should bring along their test results.

Yesterday, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said a total of 24 Covid-19 cases, which originated from the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market cluster, have been detected from the two wet markets in Petaling Jaya.

He said 23 cases were recorded at the wet market in Jalan Othman and another one in Taman Megah.
