SHAH ALAM, 14 Oct — The Selangor state government welcomes the allocation provided in the Budget 2020, which was announced on October 11, to boost the development of the state.
Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the allocation set aside for the state should be thoroughly be put into effect by the civil service sector to drive Selangor into becoming a smart state by 2025.
“We welcome the initiatives that were announced, including the RM2.16 billion allocation for both the public and private sector to implement the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP), which would benefit Selangor as it targets to have a 100 per cent internet reach across the state by 2022,” said Amirudin in his speech at the Selangor state departments’ monthly assembly, hosted by the Hulu Langat District and Land Office at the Dewan Jubli Perak, here today.
He said several model initiatives that were formerly introduced by the state government, such as the “Skim Peduli Sihat” and the “Skim Smart Sewa”, is now implemented at the Federal level through the “Skim Peduli Kesihatan or PeKa B40” and the Rent-To-Own (RTO) financing scheme.
Amirudin added that the state also welcomes the Federal administration’s move to carry out feasibility studies for the development of Carey Island and the Klang Logistics Corridor, as well as an allocation of RM50 million for the repair and maintenance of roads leading to Port Klang.
Selangor was also given an allocation for the building of a new school in Hulu Langat, as well as a part of the RM1.6 billion allocation for the upgrading and expansion of the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
The Cabinet had also approved to acquire four highways in Klang Valley — Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), Sprint Expressway (SPRINT) and SMART Tunnel (SMART).
