SHAH ALAM, AUGUST 10: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has been urged to follow stipulated conditions and guidelines in implementing the High Voltage Electrical Transmission Line Construction Project 275/132 kilovolt (kV) to the Mahkota Cheras Main Intake Substation (PMU).
Infrastructure, Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-Based Industries Exco Zaidy Abdul Talib said that residents’ safety should be a priority.
“At the same time, residents are requested to cooperate for everyone’s mutual benefit.
“The State Government is closely monitoring the development of this project,” he said in a statement.
On June 6, TNB, through a dialogue with residents, was prepared to consider the Taman Cheras Hartmas community leaders’ request not to interfere with the residents’ existing structures within the project area.
Based on total current electric consumption, Klang Valley needs 44%, in comparison with the 21% production rate.
Zaidy said the electrical transmission construction line is also associated with a number of major projects such as the MRT Project, which is expected to be completed in 2017; and the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant (2019).
“As the developer, TNB has clarified issues regarding the project’s implementation to the Taman Cheras Hartamas community.
“This included getting feedback from professional consultants, such as Kumpulan IKRAM Sdn Bhd,” he said.
