Request a core priority in budget, says Nanta

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — The initial investigation into the tragic bus crash which claimed 15 lives on the East-West Highway (JRTB) in Gerik, Perak, on Monday (June 9), has found no evidence that mechanical failure caused the accident.

IPOH, June 14 — Only seven injured victims in Monday’s (June 9) crash along the Jeli-Gerik East West Highway (JRTB) that killed 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students are still undergoing treatment in government hospitals.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — The site of the tragic accident, which claimed the lives of 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students yesterday, has been identified as one of the key sections of the East-West Highway (JRTB) slated for upgrading, with RM55 million allocated for improvements this year.

PUTRAJAYA, May 13 — The Cabinet Committee on Road Safety and Traffic Congestion (JK-MKKJR) has agreed, in principle, to establish a funding mechanism for road safety initiatives, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
