KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — Starting June 1, all cable-laying ships engaged in the installation, maintenance and repair of submarine telecommunication cables landed at any submarine cable landing centre in Malaysian waters are exempt from the cabotage policy.

PUTRAJAYA, May 19 — The statement by Muhammad Muhsinin Dolisada, an Indonesian Consul in Sabah, pertaining to the use of wooden hull ships and smaller vessels in Malaysian and Indonesian waters by linking them with the cabotage policy is inaccurate and confusing, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said.
