Selangor’s fundraising drive for Palestine reach close to RM800,000

SHAH ALAM, July 28 — The “Tabung Kemanusiaan Selangor Prihatin” fund has raised almost RM800,000 as of yesterday, says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Menteri Besar said the deadline for contributions to the humanitarian fund has been extended until Saturday to allow more people to contribute to the fundraising campaign.

“Alhamdulillah (God willing) the fund has received a total collection of RM780,589.42 as of July 27.

“The collection period will be extended until July 31 to gather funds to provide assistance in the form of ambulances and multi-purpose vehicles for the Palestinian,” he said in a Facebook post today.

The state government launched the fundraising drive on May 19, which aimed at raising up to RM1 million via crowdfunding and channelled to the Palestinians through the “Selangor Peduli Palestine” mission.

The Selangor State Executive Council had also approved the funds to be channelled through the Global Peace Mission Malaysia.

Contributions can be made by transferring the funds to the state Treasury CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad account (account number 8604747531) and note “Palestine” as a reference.
