SHAH ALAM, March 2 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) supports the state government’s call to make usage of ‘Scan to Ride’ application as compulsory to Smart Selangor Bus passengers.

Shah Alam mayor Dato’ Haris Kasim said the effort is in line with the National Security Council (NSC) recommendation to increase cashless transactions and reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission.

“We are confident that many Smart Selangor Bus users will download the Citizen E-Payment Platform (CEPat) application to make use of this system.

“Up till now, 34 of these buses traverse along eight routes around the city of Shah Alam with most of the users comprising of students and civil servants,” he said during the launching of the ‘Scan to Ride’ function for Smart Selangor Bus service at the Menara Bank Simpanan Nasional here yesterday.

He added they are also working on providing various digital platforms to ease dealings between the public and the local authority.

“We are also moving towards digital technology by developing various kinds of applications to provide facilities for the people to get services or have dealings with MBSA,” said Haris.
