SHAH ALAM, Jan 17 — The Selangor government provides loans up to RM5,000 to help the people in the state in starting up small businesses.

State executive councillor for entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail said the initiative, known as Darul Ihsan Business Scheme or ‘Niaga Darul Ihsan’ (NaDI), does not require applicants to submit a business registration certificate from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).

“The Covid-19 pandemic has a huge impact on the source of income for many. To help small traders and hawkers who are new to entrepreneurship, the state government has introduced a scheme that offers loans of RM1,000 to RM5,000,” said Rodziah in her Facebook.

She said the loan application can be made at the Yayasan Hijrah Selangor office but applicants are advised to set an appointment before coming.

Rodziah said the eligibility requirement of the applicant includes requiring citizenship and has resided in Selangor for not less than five years.

"The documents required are two passport photos as well as a copy of the identity card and bank statement," she said.
