PETALING JAYA, March 17 — Selangor Police have deployed 542 officers to ensure smooth traffic flow and road user safety across the state during Aidilfitri.
The deployment includes 41 officers and 501 personnel on duty throughout the festive season to carry out Op Selamat 26 and Op Lancar, said Selangor Police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar.
The operation is supported by logistics assets, including 70 patrol cars and 148 motorcycles.
“We will closely monitor 23 strategic locations across 16 districts to enforce speed limits, and focus on 53 hotspot locations and 34 blackspot areas,” he said at a press conference after the Aidilfitri Road Safety Campaign at the PJS 2 toll plaza yesterday. Selangor Road Transport Department director Azrin Borhan was also present.
Shazeli said Op Lancar has been scheduled proactively from March 18–29 to manage major traffic congestion points across the state.
He also reminded truck drivers to observe the driving ban on March 19–20 March and March 28–29. Violations carry a maximum fine of RM2,000, though heavy machinery and cranes performing emergency work are exempt.
