GOMBAK, March 4 — Selangor continues to lead other states after recording the highest number of registrations for six-year-olds entering Year One for the 2027 school session.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said that of the roughly 52,000 registrations nationwide so far, more than 15,000 were recorded in Selangor.

“Beyond population density, the improving quality of schools and the availability of quality education in the state have become key attractions for parents registering their six-year-old children.

“The commitment shown by parents in Selangor is encouraging in ensuring their children receive the best education, in line with the aspirations of the Malaysia Education Blueprint (RPM) 2026–2035,” she said at a press conference held in conjunction with the Jaulah Ramadan programme here today.

She added that the Selangor government’s commitment to placing education at the core of state development has also contributed to the achievement.

“The menteri besar himself holds the education portfolio, further strengthening efforts to empower the sector,” she said.
