KUALA SELANGOR, Feb 24 — Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari went on the ground to join the Singgah Bazar Programme and Bubur Lambuk Distribution at the Kuala Selangor Ramadan bazaar today.
A total of 1,000 containers of bubur lambuk were distributed to traders and visitors at the bazaar under the programme.
He also took part in stirring the bubur lambuk as a symbolic gesture before distributing the dish to members of the public.
Amirudin's presence was warmly received by visitors and traders, many of whom took the opportunity to shake hands and capture photographs.
Visitors were also given the opportunity to receive RM10 Platform Selangor vouchers, which could be used to purchase items at selected stalls.
The programme was part of an initiative under the state executive councillor for rural development, unity, and consumer affairs Datuk Rizam Ismail, in conjunction with this year’s Ramadan.
The initiative is being carried out in every district, involving the Ihya’ Ramadan programme of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj with the people.
Overall, 12,000 containers of bubur lambuk will be distributed throughout Ramadan, including 2,000 containers at the State Secretariat Building.
Also present at today's event were the state executive councillor for youth, sports, and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI's group chief executive officer Dato' Saipolyazan M Yusop, and Yayasan MBI head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor.
