State to resolve strata title issues for six housing projects in 2026

SHAH ALAM, Dec 21 — Strata title issues for at least six low- and medium-cost housing projects will be resolved next year, said state executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah.

He said this would involve 2,000 lots, some of them in Klang, identified by the Federal Department of the Land and Mines Director-General (JKPTG).

“This is still being confirmed by local authorities before it can be finalised with the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS).

“The state government is also identifying other projects that could also be resolved according to priorities and technical availability,” he told Media Selangor.

He said that for now, cost breakdowns haven’t been finalised, while the projects will only be implemented when all technical confirmation and approval has been received.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said Selangor is committed to resolving strata ownership issues in a comprehensive manner with three main focuses — strata titles, infrastructure upgrades, and community social development.

He said it is to ensure a holistic solution to the matter, especially with apartments and low-cost apartments aged over 50.

Amirudin said Selangor set up the Selangor Strata Fund incentive on May 30 to resolve strata ownership issues, with around 600 housing schemes, involving over 130,000 lots, still without strata titles.
