SHAH ALAM, Dec 2 — The Selangor Volunteers (SERVE) team continued its assistance mission in Kampung Lubuk Jaya, Kuala Selangor, by carrying out post-flood cleaning works this morning.

The non-governmental organisation said the operation focused on waste management, house cleaning, and restoring affected areas to ensure residents can return to their homes in a safe, clean condition.

In a Facebook post, it said that several areas in the district remain inundated due to stagnant floodwaters, particularly in villages around Asahan, making it impossible to carry out full-scale cleaning efforts.

Meanwhile, the number of flood victims housed at temporary relief centres (PPS) showed a significant downward trend tonight.

Approximately 1,020 victims from 298 families remain sheltered at the PPS, down from 1,464 victims from 413 families in the afternoon, indicating the flood situation is gradually improving.

The state government, together with rescue agencies and the local authorities, is expected to continue assistance operations until all affected areas have fully recovered.
