GISBH member sends second representation for review of charge of possessing banned publications

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 — A female member of GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH), who is charged with possession of 38 banned publications related to Al-Arqam, has submitted a second representation to the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) seeking a review of the charge.

Lawyer Boestamam Ahmad, representing Aishah Bula Tajudin, 61, informed Magistrate Farah Nabihah Mohammad Dan that the representation had been submitted and requested that the trial dates fixed for today and tomorrow be vacated.

“We (the defence) have once again submitted a representation to the AGC to review the charges in this case. Therefore, we are requesting an adjournment of the trial dates to allow the AGC sufficient time to consider the representation,” he said.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Amritpreet Kaur Randhawa did not object to it.

Magistrate Farah then set January 22, 2026, for the decision on the second representation, and April 2 and April 3 as the trial dates.

Speaking to the press after the proceedings, Boestamam said the second representation was submitted on Thursday (November 20), following the rejection of the first representation last year.

Aishah is charged with possessing 38 banned publications linked to Al-Arqam, including Darul Arqam 25 Tahun Perjuangan Abuya Syeikh Imarn Ashaari Muhammad At-Tamimi, Khutbah Aidilfitri 1413 Hijrah, Siri Terkini Era Kasih Sayang, Abuya Pemimpin Kasih Sayang, and Abuya Ashaari Muhammad Pemimpin Paling Ajaib di Zamannya.

The offence was allegedly committed at a premises in Kampung Sungai Penchala, Brickfields, at 11.30am on September 21 last year.

The charge was framed under Section 8(1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984, which provides for a maximum fine of RM5,000 upon conviction.
