SUBANG JAYA, Nov 21 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari officiated the Selangor Hawkers and Small Traders Day (HPPKS) 2025 celebration today at The Roundabout @ Putra Heights.
With the theme "Hawkers and Small Traders Driving Selangor’s Digital Economy", the inaugural event emphasises the increased use of technology and digital transactions among small traders.
Following the launch, Amirudin, accompanied by Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim, visited the stalls of hawkers and traders, including those from the local authorities.
HPPKS is organised in collaboration between Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI and Agrobank, bringing together 2,000 micro and small entrepreneurs, 12 local authorities, and government agencies, with a target of 15,000 visitors.
The two-day programme also provides free trading space for small traders to market their products, obtain information on entrepreneurship assistance, and participate in capacity-building activities.
Other interesting activities include the Eco Free Market (distribution of used items for free), the sale of eggs at RM1 per tray, a remote-controlled acrobatic helicopter show, Dapur PLATS with Didie Alias, and a Junior Chef cake decoration competition.
The event also features several special awards, including the Highest Digital Coupon Collection Award, Battle of the Best Staff, and the Cleanest and Most Customer-Friendly Hawker Award.
Visitors will also be treated to performances by artists including Black Hanifah, Afiq Adnan, and Astravella, along with lucky draws and the distribution of free Selangor Platform (PLATS) coupons worth RM10.
