SHAH ALAM, Nov 7 — Members of the care community may now share their views on policies for the sector through the Selangor Care Network, said state executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari.
She said this network aims to provide a dialogue space between stakeholders including caregivers, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), academics, and the private sector to strengthen state policies.
“The Selangor Care Network is to enable dialogue sessions and opinion exchanges among stakeholders,” she said, as reported by Malay Mail.
She added that the state government’s SEJAGAT portal will be supplemented with the special Selangor Care Network microsite, that will serve as a bulletin board and digital directory that allow network members to connect and share updates.
“Through the site, network partners can contact one another, share information with researchers or world bodies like Unicef, UNDP, UN Women, and the World Bank,” Anfaal said.
The network was launched on October 9 with participation opened to formal and informal caregivers, NGOs, research institutions, the private sector, local authorities, and world organisations. Those interested may register on the website.
By joining the network, participants may explore collaboration opportunities, share data, strengthen strategic networks, and contribute to the planning of inclusive and innovative care policies in Selangor.
Anfaal added that the network is part of the Selangor Care Economy Policy 2024-2030 (DEPNS), which aims to make Selangor a regional care economy hub.
Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS), which Anfaal oversees, manages the Selangor Care Network, while Selgate Corporation implements several initiatives under the policy.
