SHAH ALAM, July 16 — Agricultural entrepreneurs are invited to take part in the Selangor Agro Icon search programme, open from July 1 to July 20.
State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato' Izham Hashim said the programme, which has been held since 2020, features categories including agriculture, livestock, aquaculture, agro-based industries, and agro-tourism.
He said the Selangor Agro Icon 2025 programme will be combined with the 2024 edition, and applicants who submitted their entries last year are not required to resubmit them.
“Candidates who meet the criteria will be selected as Selangor Agro Icons for 2024/2025 and will receive cash prizes and agricultural input assistance worth RM10,000 each,” he said on Facebook.

Each Selangor Agro Icon will serve as a mini ambassador for the agro sector and mentor new agricultural entrepreneurs. They will also be monitored and audited by the Selangor State Agriculture Committee for two years.
Participation Criteria for the Selangor Agro Icon Programme:
- Participants must be in operation for at least one year or more.
- Must be running an agro project within Selangor.
- The ongoing project must have a valid legal status.
- Must possess a Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) registration under their own name (Enterprise, PLT, or Sdn Bhd).
- Must have at least 12 months of financial statements.
- Associations/Cooperatives must submit a complete profile and be actively engaged in business activities.
