Malaysia’s agriculture sector secured RM 15 mln in trade at IFE 2025 in London

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry (KPKM) recorded RM15 million in actual trade during its recent participation in the International Food and Drink Event (IFE) 2025 in London.

Deputy Director-General of the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama), Faisal Iswandi Ismail, stated that the ministry secured approximately RM80 million in potential trade for the next five years.

With this new milestone, Faisal, who led the KPKM delegation, expressed high hopes that IFE London would open greater opportunities for Fama-supported entrepreneurs to expand into international markets.

“This aligns with the strong cooperation between Malaysia and the United Kingdom, particularly in marketing Malaysian products on a global scale,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (March 26).

According to the Hague Agricultural Representative Office, this was KPKM’s second appearance at the event, and it received overwhelming interest from visitors. The exhibition showcased black pepper, Agromas products, energy drinks, MD2 pineapples, and Musang King durian.

The office also noted that five Malaysian companies successfully introduced their products at IFE 2025, which was held at ExCeL London from March 17 to 19.

Muna Tasu, First Secretary at The Hague Agricultural Representative Office, praised KPKM’s efforts to promote Malaysian products in the European market, particularly the UK.

“This significant effort must continue, as Malaysian products have proven to be high-quality and attractive to a diverse audience in the UK, who are eager to explore unique flavours that rival international brands,” she said.

The event also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between 3Bumi Trading Sdn Bhd and Ronuson LTD (UK).

The agreement is expected to further expand the distribution network of Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK, with a collaboration valued at RM6 million.
