KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 — Perodua has signed a memorandum of understanding with MyDigital ID Sdn Bhd to secure user authentication access as the compact car company improves its cashless transactions.
MyDigital ID is a secured and trusted National Digital Identity initiative, developed to enable Malaysians to seamlessly and safely access both government and private digital services.
Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the authentication process is a secured starting point to ensure all users are safeguarded by the country’s cyber security experts.
“This collaboration is the first of its kind for the country’s automotive industry as MyDigital ID, being the country’s gatekeeper for authentication transactions, enables us to further diversify our services to our customers specifically, and to all Malaysians in general,” he said in a statement today.
He added that the company also supports the government’s call for a more cashless society for convenience and will leverage the robust cyber security feature provided by MyDigital ID.
Meanwhile, MyDigital ID chief operation officer Mohd Azuddin Parman said the strategic collaboration with Perodua demonstrates the important role of digital identity in accelerating digital transformation within the automotive industry.
“The key is to ensure trusted digital identity verification while making digital interactions safer and more convenient. It empowers industries such as automotive to offer secure and user-friendly experiences for every customer,” he said.
