SHAH ALAM, Feb 27 — The state government is prepared to consider granting leniency for civil servants to leave work earlier during the upcoming Ramadan fasting month.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the proposal would be discussed at the upcoming Selangor State Executive Council (MMKN) meeting.
“We will discuss it in the MMKN if necessary, but for now, the working hours we have set are sufficient for them to work and return home.

“We are also considering flexible hours — if they leave early, they must also arrive early to ensure productivity is not affected while allowing them the opportunity to fulfil their responsibilities in preparing meals and so on,” he said.
Amirudin was speaking to the press after officiating the launch of the 11th Selangor Ramadan Festival at the SACC Mall today.
Also in attendance was Selangor State Development Corporation chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas and the Selangor Public Library Corporation's director Datin Paduka Mastura Muhamad.
Previously, the Negeri Sembilan state government allowed female civil servants to leave as early as 2pm every Friday during Ramadan.
The Pahang state government has also set shorter working hours for civil servants every Friday throughout Ramadan, ending at 12.30pm.
