KLANG, Nov 17 — Meru state assemblyman Mariam Abdul Rashid has welcomed the 2025 Selangor Budget, which will continue the Mega Road Resurfacing Project next year.

She is hopeful that several roads in her state constituency will be given special attention and included in the project.

“I am pleased and relieved to hear that the project will continue, and I hope Meru will not be left out, as many roads here are in poor condition.

“In particular, Jalan Paip is a major concern, as it frequently experiences accidents, including fatalities.

"Heavy lorries using the road have caused it to sink, and I urge the state government to address this matter carefully,” Mariam said.

She was speaking to the press after officiating the Klang Car-Free Day at Stadium Sultan Suleiman today.

On Friday (November 15) Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari announced the continuation of the Mega Resurfacing Project to improve road quality across Selangor next year, with a RM50 million allocation.

He emphasised that the state government is always attentive to public complaints about damaged roads, which pose risks to road users' safety and comfort.
