HULU LANGAT, Oct 7 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, has allocated RM170,000 to parent-teacher associations’ (PTA) management funds of schools in Hulu Langat and Sepang.

MBI chief executive officer Saipolyazan M. Yusop said 119 schools in the two districts received RM1,000 each through Yayasan MBI.

“Forty-five Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia 2023 excellent students also received awards,” he said in a statement.

The awards ceremony was graced by Menteri Besar Dato’ Amirudin Shari and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, in conjunction with the Education Reformation programme launch here today.

Earlier, Yayasan MBI head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said RM890,000 was allocated for PTA funds to 890 schools statewide.

The funds, he said, can be used for monthly meetings, the purchase of stationery, and matters regarding PTA management.

Meanwhile, Fadhlina assured rapid technological developments will not replace teachers.

She said teachers play a significant role in educating the next generation, and though they are trained to master the digital field, technology will never take over teachers’ duties.

“This country sufficiently defends the authority of teachers, and the presence of digital technology will never replace teachers or solve education problems, not even pedagogy,” she said.

Fadhlina added that technology should be used to facilitate teaching, and must be used with the utmost integrity.

She said the Education Ministry is preparing a plan to replace the National Education Blueprint 2013-2025, as the existing strategy expires next year.

“Six Education Reformation task forces are in the works to catch what we miss in the process of forming the new plan, as it is not just for now, but for the future,” she said.
