KANGAR, Sept 26 — Six business premises believed to be linked to Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holding Sdn Bhd (GISBH) have been in Perlis based on a check by the Kangar Perlis Municipal Council (MPKPs).
However, its president Affendi Rajini Kanth said the premises are no longer in operation.
This was based on checks by the council a day after the Perlis Fatwa Committee ruled that the beliefs and teachings in GISBH contained deviationist teachings.
"The Council monitors in terms of premises licenses and compliance with the license conditions that have been set by the Kangar Municipal Council. Based on the records, all these premises comply with the prescribed procedures, operating with valid licenses before," he told Bernama today.
Affendi said the council will continue to check if other business premises in the state are suspected to be linked to GISBH.
Bernama previously reported that 63 items related to GISBH were seized by the Perlis Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jaips) enforcement division on Saturday (September 21).
This followed a joint raid by Jaips and the police codenamed 'Op Global' at two premises in Perlis.
Among the items are books and reading materials allegedly linked to the founder of banned al-Arqam teaching, the late Ashaari Mohammad, which was banned by the government in 1994.
