SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 — Several of Selangor's mega infrastructures, including the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) in Subang, need to be rejuvenated to attract future investments.

Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said that similar plans are also intended for Port Klang, as it is a key area for the economic sector.

"By 2026, we will have the LRT3 line. This facility, along with the existing mega infrastructures, will be a crucial factor for national development.

"Just like the Subang Airport and Port Klang, they require rejuvenation. Otherwise, older developments will have a negative impact and will not add value to investor inflows or the development pattern.

"We welcome the call to rejuvenate LTSAAS, which was presented at the Selangor Economic Council Meeting and has been approved. We hope Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd can expedite the process," he said.

Amirudin was speaking at the launch of the high-impact urban development project SA Sentral for the city yesterday evening. The project is under the purview of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).

During the event, its chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said SA Sentral will make Shah Alam a business hub capable of competing with Kuala Lumpur.

He said the RM3 billion project, which is a transit-oriented development concept, also provides an ideal ecosystem for expanding businesses and entrepreneurship.

SA Sentral, which combines several buildings, including Plaza Alam Sentral, Plaza Perangsang, the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC), SACC Mall, SACC Walk, and Kompleks PKNS, will also become the new golden triangle location in the state.
